Fall is in the air. And it’s a great time for friendship, fitness, fabulousness, frivolity, and fun. It’s also a great time to join us at our special October events, as well as at our free programs of support for children, teens, adults, and families living with a cancer diagnosis.
Come enjoy a Paws 4 Life walk in the park with friends (both human and canine). Watch the leaves turning colors as you swing and putt for cancer on North Hills’ tight fairways and subtle greens. Celebrate our 30th Anniversary Gala by spending a fabulous Evening in the Park at The Suzanne Morgan Center at Ridgeland. Or (just in time for Halloween!) dress up a scarecrow in a silly or scary fall costume.
No matter how you choose to have fun, your loyal and generous support will help us provide friendship, fitness, fabulousness, frivolity, and fun to individuals with cancer and their loved ones—not just this fall, but for many, many seasons to come. Lisa Barsky, Board Member |

National Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness day: October 13, 2022
According to METAvivor.com: The pink ribbon is well-known for representing the fight against breast cancer, but many stage 4 breast cancer patients feel that pink does not encapsulate their experience. To highlight the uniqueness of the disease and show its commonality with other stage 4 cancers, METAvivor designed a base ribbon of green and teal to represent metastasis. Green represents the triumph of spring over winter, life over death, and symbolizes renewal, hope, and immortality while teal symbolizes healing and spirituality. The thin pink ribbon overlay signifies that the metastatic cancer originated in the breast.
